Frequently Asked Questions

Hey friends! If you've ever had any questions about waxing, the majority of your concerns can be answered here! Whether you're a hard wax veteran or just a little wax-curious, you might learn a little something new here.

How long should my hair be?

You need hair to remove hair! 1/4" to 1/2" of hair is ideal. That's usually 2 to 3 weeks of growth. You can think of it like a long grain of rice or a sprinkle. As long as you have that, you'll be good!

Should I avoid anything beforehand?

If you want the easiest wax possible, avoid caffeine, nicotine, and alcohol. As long as you didn't have anything the morning of your wax, you should be fine. They all tend to make a wax a bit more spicy. Definitely not recommended for your first wax. To avoid risk of skin lifting, avoid acids in skincare, antibiotics, and tanning for at least 3 days ahead of time.

How often should I come?

That depends on what service you're getting and how quick your hair grows. I usually start everyone out on a 4 week schedule to see how growth is from there. My total range for waxing(especially Brazilians) is every 3-6 weeks.

Can I wax during my cycle?

You totally can! As long as you're wearing a tampon or a disk, there's absolutely no problem with waxing during your cycle. The only downside is the pain level. If we're using peppers, I'd say a normal wax is a Jalapeno, a wax during a cycle is more like a Habanero. Little more spicy, but doable.

How low does the table go?

18" at the bottom. It's ADA compliant and easy for bed transfers. Though a transfer board is recommended for wheelchairs just to be safe. The bed can also be lifted after an appointment for help standing up.

What should I wear?

Definitely wear something comfy. Think dresses, sweats, loose shorts, anything like that. Cotton based clothing is best. You don't want anything tight and suffocating going over freshly waxed skin. Skinny jeans and leggings are a no go!

Should I Trim?

Nope! As long as you have enough hair, there's no need to change anything. In fact, I've found that clients that do trim tend to trim too short. The wax can't grab anything if it's less than 1/4". So leave it be! I'll take care of all the hair removing. (Even if you feel like you can braid it)

Will it be totally bare?

If it's your first time, you'll probably have a little stubble left behind. Hair tends to grow in different cycles, so you may have hair that hasn't even surfaced yet while you're getting waxed. After about 3-4 waxes, your hair starts to grow in near the same time. Meaning longer lasting results. Consistency is key!

I'm pregnant! Can I wax?

Yep! Super common actually. At the time of writing this, I've had 6 pregnant people in for Brazilians this week. Totally normal! Again the only downside is the level of pain. It's similar to being on your cycle.

How much weight can your table carry?

It's rated up to 600 pounds! My partner and I can sit on it together comfortably. You won't have any issues I promise. If you've ever been somewhere where the beds are bamboo and creak under you, I promise you won't have that problem here!
